Where past shows focused on alternative fuel concepts and hybrid technology, the 2015 LA Auto Show was markedly different.
Showing off a complete stable of new crossovers, roadsters and performance machines, the show had quite a bit to show for the upcoming year. We will be bringing you coverage of the show and everything you missed this month, but we wanted to share our early coverage of the 2015 LA Auto Show with our gallery below.

LA Auto Show – New Civic Coupe
Of course the car that grabbed our attention was the all new 2016 Honda Civic Coupe. Offered with two different powertrains the new Civic comes in the 2.0 liter VTEC engine as well as the 1.5 liter turbo Earth Dreams engine.
The Civic coupe looks slimmer, meaner and lower due to quite a few changes over the sedan. With wider rear fenders and a slightly sucked in rear valence, the new Civic coupe is laying down the foundation for the new Civic Type R hatchback.
Of course when it comes to turbocharged performance, Honda fans are hot to trot for the new Type R. The hatchback has been spied in the US, and if it’s going to come with the new 2.0 liter Earth Dreams turbocharged engine it could revive Honda modification as we know it.
LA Auto Show – Scion C-HR
We’ve shared the new crossover concept in teaser videos and images previously but seeing this thing in person left us with mixed feelings. Some think the extreme design is just what Toyota / Scion needs in their new platform, but many seem to disagree.
While the concept made it’s debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon, the production model seems markedly different.
Regardless of which way you feel about the new Scion / Toyota crossover, it’s set to take on the Nissan Juke in the new market segment.
Considering the success of the new Juke, it looks to be a market that will be hotly contested.
LA Auto Show – Mazda CX-9
Redesigned for the 2016 production year, the SUV has received a much needed interior facelift. What’s really got Mazda fans buzzing is talk of the all new 2.5-liter Skyactiv turbo four-cylinder which will be in the new CX-9.
The new turbocharged powerplant will crank out 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque in stock form. Turbocharged factory performance has returned and it promises to herald in an era of modification ahead.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Many thanks to our Pro Street correspondent Schel.
