PZ Tuning Civic Si Sets Lap Record at Tsukuba Circuit

Last month the team from PZ Tuning took their 9th generation PZ Tuning Civic Si and crushed the FWD lap record at Tsukuba. One of the most iconic tracks in history, Tsukuba is the race track put on the map by and large by racing video games.

Despite the fact that Tsukuba checks in a just a tad over a mile, and is no longer a major circuit track, there’s no denying the history of this legendary track. PZ Tuning has set the bar to a new high by setting a new FWD lap record and looks to turn up the performance wick even further.

In other words, the PZ Tuning Civic Si means business and could potentially challenge multiple other FF records before it’s all said and done.

PZ Tuning Civic Si Conquers Tsukuba Circuit

Congratulations goes to Driver William Au-Yeung from PZTuning Motorsports. With the backing of Vibrant Performance, the Civic Si smashed the previous FF record with a time of 53.071. While the Civic SI has been widely heralded as one of the fastest front drive production vehicles of all time, this is still an incredibly impressive feat.

Time attack is a segment of motorsports that isn’t followed as well here in the States, which is a shame. With a wide range of vehicles and platforms, the sport brings together a very unique field of competitors.

The PZ Tuning Civic Si is an incredible testament to the level of engineering and components. The FG4 is simply insane, stripped to the bone and utilizes aggressive aero to help the rubber stay on the tarmac.

Built to the teeth and sporting a K24 turbocharged engine, the PZ Tuning Civic Si checks in at just under 800 wheel horsepower. That’s an incredible powerband for a FF track vehicle such as this 9th gen Civic.

The PZ Tuning Civic Si has been nothing short of a revelation, placing at tracks and events such as the World Time Attack Challenge. And in fact the PZ Tuning Civic Si has performed so well, that many RWD and AWD vehicles can’t even come close to the PZ Tuning lap times.
