Toyota held nothing back when it came to putting together their own spin on the legendary Supra. Recently unveiling the GR Supra GT4 Concept, the Japanese automaker has raised the bar on Supra performance. Given the sure fire support the aftermarket will provide for Supra modifications, the Supra concept has a lot to live up to.

The GR in the GR Supra GT4 Concept stands for Gazoo Racing, one of the oldest and most trusted names in Toyota Performance. Building the template for the racing study model, Gazoo Racing means business.

Inside the GR Supra GT4 Concept

Gazoo Racing will be competing in the
GT4 European Series with the concept Supra, with aim at the highest level of competition. For those who are unfamiliar with the race category, it’s one of the most unique competitions of it’s kind.

The GT4 European Series is geared towards factory built race cars, and approved by FIA. Although Gazoo Racing is building the
GR Supra GT4 Concept for this class particularly, Toyota isn’t excluding the concept Supra from other racing platforms.

Initial reports from the Japanese automaker state that the
GR Supra Concept would also compete in the IMSA’s Michelin Pilot Challenge, Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia, Super Endurance Series, and much more.

The details on the GR Supra GT4 Concept have been extremely sparse, as Toyota is remaining tight-lipped. However, it’s fair to say that the Supra concept will promise to be every bit as wild as any other Gazoo Racing built Toyota.

Specifications be damned though because the GR Supra GT4 Concept looks simply epic. Toyota is reported to have put the Supra on an extreme diet, looking to cut weight and unsprung weight as efficiently as possible.

“The GR Supra GT4 Concept is even more light-weight than the commercial Toyota Supra, and is equipped with race specific parts such as roll cage, suspension, brake and rear-wings,”

Official Toyota press release on the GR Supra GT4 Concept

The GR Supra GT4 Concept will make it’s official appearance at the Geneva Motor Show, where the rumor mill is bound to be cranking at full speed. We are hoping that the Supra GT4 Concept specifications will be released at that time, with official release dates and prices that will hopefully follow.
