Quaife’s products are steeped in the racing heritage and background that once powered their race cars in the British GT Championships of the 90s. Their R40 roadster with a mid mounted V8 motorcycle engine was a terror and could probably still hold it’s own against today’s race cars.
Founded in 1965 by Rod Quaife the British based drivetrain company has developed some of the worlds strongest gearboxes (such as the QBE60G, and QBE69G) and gear sets along with their legendary differentials. They have served the global motorsport industry with high performance, high strength products with excellence in service ever since.
The ATB differential is one of the most commonly known aftermarket units available and is designed to prevent the loss of control one experiences in a conventional one wheel differential configuration. This action is never forced and is instead progressive, giving the driver and vehicle a smooth engaging experience without any of the headaches of locking differentials or welded ones.
We think the very best feature of the ATB is the unique design and high level of engineering put in pre-design phases where they made sure they built the ultimate in differentials. With no plates or gears to wear down and require expensive retooling or rebuilding, the Quaife ATB differential truly provides a maintenance free operation.

Across the pond the 2014 Autosport International has officially kicked off and Quaife is debuting several new exciting products that will give new options for sport compact enthusiasts. Their steering rack components offer some of the greatest bang for buck products for front wheel customers in our opinion, and their helical gear ratios have no rival.
One of the more interesting of the products is their new sequential gearbox for the popular Mitsubishi Evolution. With lightning fast shifting possible in a OEM form factor, the new gearbox is yet another in the long line of successful sequential transmissions Quaife has developed.
While the final gear ratios have yet to be announced, Quaife states the new transmission is available for the Evolution V-IX. The new transmission will feature a strengthened geartrain, upgraded shift forks and synchros and the sequential mechanism is encased in a Quaife specific housing.
Not to be left behind, Quaife will also feature sequential gear boxes and kits for the Lotus Elise, with six close gear ratios and a bevy of final gear choices. This sequential box is also available in kit form that is designed to operate within the original EC6 housing.
Enthusiasts not familiar with Quaife’s work in the European Ford rally scene, may be more familiar with another type of drift Ford. And staying true to those respective Ford Fiesta and Focus platforms, their newest in the QBM1M inline sequential transmissions features a drop gear section which can be easily removed for any needed adjustments.
Sadly it’s not known if these new Ford products will make their way here stateside like so many other great automotive components and cars, but we can always hope.
