It’s been a busy couple of months for Lexus and it came to a head shortly before the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, as Lexus announced the RC Coupe as the first true 2 door coupe in the company’s lineup since the first generation SC300 and SC400s.
Equipped with a 3.5L V6 or a 2.5L 4cylinder hybrid motors that are found in today’s IS and GS models, the RC brings back the sports luxury coupe in style borrowing the same trademark front grille and “waterfall” design.
Inside the cockpit the instrument panel shares a lot of the same traits as the current Lexus IS but with a paddle style shifter incorporated into the steering wheel but has a general “upscale” in feel and comfort.
Lexus’ Remote Touch technology rounds out a touchpad complete with a 7″ navigation screen, and the shimomoku wood trim is a nice touch to bring class and elegance to the new Coupe.
This is a great addition to the Lexus lineup, and promises to return a sense of sporty fun to the luxury lineup. Could a F SPORT model be on the way?? Stay tuned!
