Nissan is continuing its “rapid-fire reveal” era, following the refreshed Pathfinder with something more electrified — the 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid. Or, as industry experts lovingly call it: the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with a Nissan logo glued on.
Yes, really. We’ve touched on Nissan’s trouble on our Youtube Channel – ProStreetTV, but the new 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In SUV definitely shows that they could be in way more trouble than we originally thought.
A Familiar Shape… Because It Is One
If you think the new Rogue Plug-In looks suspiciously like Mitsubishi’s seven-seat crossover, congratulations — your eyes work. Nissan swapped the grille, tweaked the trim between the taillights, and slapped on some fresh badges. Boom. “New” model.
To further differentiate itself, Nissan color-matched some exterior trim that Mitsubishi leaves black or chrome. Huge innovation, we know.
Inside? Even less disguise. The dashboard, the four-spoke steering wheel, the infotainment — if you’ve seen inside an Outlander PHEV, you’ve seen inside this Rogue.
Third-Row Bonus (Bring Small Friends)
Shared bones with the Outlander mean the Rogue Plug-In gets something the regular Rogue doesn’t: a third row. Sure, the people banished back there may file HR complaints about legroom, but hey — seven seats!

The 2026 Rogue Plug-In will make its public debut at the LA Auto Show and hit dealerships early next year. No price yet, but with the Outlander PHEV starting just over $40,000, expect Nissan to hover around the same number.
Because it’s hard to charge more when the other guy built the whole car.
