Who says drifting is just for the tarmac? Combining dirt and the passion of his Gymkhana videos, Ken Block’s new Terrakhana drift video is flat out awesome. Taking his driving skills off-road, Block tears up his all-wheel drive Fiesta Hoonigan style. For anyone that’s followed his Gymkhana series it’s another well deserved video for the ages.
The new Terrakhana video takes place through a wide section of Swing Arm City in Utah, and cranks up the drift action real time. Putting the 650 horsepower Fiesta ST RX43 through the paces, Block doesn’t disappoint with his automotive shenanigans. Block’s Fiesta ST tears up the desert in style, with a flashy combination of photogenic backdrops.
Although it’s a far cry from something as groundbreaking as his jaunt through the streets of LA, Terrakhana is definitely cool in it’s own right. What’s with all the Pennzoil advertising you ask? Nobody is going to blame Ken Block just because the entire Terrakhana drift video basically just a paid commercial.
That doesn’t matter much when you are pulling off incredible stunts like Block does in Terrakhana. Cutting loose in the desert, the Fiesta does justice to the all wheel drive rally monster reputation. Putting an artistic flair to the video is a handful of well timed slow motion shots and panoramic views. The high speed side entry drifts into a huge bank of sand don’t hurt either.
What do you think about the latest Ken Block video? Do you think that Terrakhana is a video worthy of some Gymkhana drift videos of the past? What is your favorite Ken Block video?
