The upcoming Marvel movie ‘Captain America: Civil War’ may feature the team coming apart, but the partnership between Tony Stark and Audi are stronger than ever. Audi has already played huge roles in association with the fictional character, and the Audi R8 is joining the superhero fray. As early on as 2008’s ‘Iron Man’ the Audi R8 has been a huge part of Iron Man’s arsenal.
The new 2017 Audi R8 will be piloted by Robert Downey Jr. who plays the role of Tony Stark. Powered by the incredibly responsive Audi V10, the new Audi R8 cranks out 610 horsepower at a sky high 8,250 RPM. At the heart of the new engine is a shortblock made from a custom aluminum alloy that incorporates silicon crystals for increased strength.
In fitting fashion the Audi R8 features technological advancements that would make Tony Stark proud. The 40 valve dual overhead layout incorporates variable intake and exhaust camshaft adjustments on the fly, and uses Audi’s ground breaking FSI dual injection fuel system.
Fans of the movie franchise ‘The Avengers’ and Marvel will agree with director of marketing Loren Angelo, who stated;
“there’s a level of wit and tone with Tony Stark that is smart and entertaining.”
The Audi R8 isn’t the only Audi product in the film, in fact the 2017 SQ7 crossover will also play a huge role. Other models will include the A4 and the A7 Sportback as well. In fact the latest ‘Civil War’ teaser features a highway chase with a family in the SQ7.
Audi continues to support the movie franchise to connect to the new generation of millennial buyers. This new generation of buyer who is after the latest and greatest in technological wizardry. To this effect the movie ‘Civil War’ will also introduce a new character known as Black Panther, who is played by Chadwick Boseman. He will be piloting the Audi Prologue concept which is one of the most striking vehicles in their lineup.
Loren Angelo also echoed these statements in an recent interview, stating;
“What Tony Stark and the Marvel film properties represent for us as a brand is they are part of the culture of our society,”
