As one of more colorful drifters in professional motorsports, Vaughn Gittin, Jr. recently released a teaser video to show off his 2015 Mustang RTR. Replacing the 2013 Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Racing Mustang, the new livery on the prototype competition RTR looks incredible in this short video.

Gittin gets wild with the 2015 competition Ford Mustang RTR on ice, and there’s quite a bit of production in this video to appreciate. Gearing up for the 2016 Formula Drift season, this Ford Mustang is one to keep an eye on.

Vaughn Gittin of course has been at the centerpiece of the RTR badge, which stands for Ready to Rock. We’ve enjoyed this incredible looking machine at the last SEMA Show, where the Mustang RTR took center stage. As an integral part of the Ford Out Front display at the 2015 SEMA Show, the Mustang RTR is definitely ready to rock, race and rip through tires at will.

Still backed by Monster Energy and Nitto Tire, we’ll be bringing you more coverage of the Mustang RTR throughout the season. It’s definitely a new era for the Ford Mustang without doubt. The new Mustang RTR is available in three distinct trims and power levels.

The first of the three is the all new 2.3 liter four cylinder Ecoboost engine. It’s definitely an interesting development for a four banger in a Mustang, but it’s nothing new especially when you look back at the fox body Mustang. While it’s the smallest of the three engines available. the EcoBoost turbo found in the Mustang RTR will no doubt will be a good platform for many tuners. The four cylinder tops out at 305 horsepower in stock form, but it’s only a matter of time before people start turning up the boost or upgrading the turbo.

The second is the Mustang RTR GT which will use a 5.0 liter supercharged V8 that generates 435 horsepower. Still want more? The Spec 2 Mustang RTR turns up the performance wick to 725 bhp which is enough tire smoking performance for anyone.

The argument for turbo vs supercharger will definitely bear out between the 2 different styles of forced induction in the all new Mustang RTR. Time will tell when it comes to the aftermarket and the level of support that the supercharged or turbocharged Mustang RTR will receive. But either way it’s a win for fans of the Ford Mustang.
