The P0305 OBD-II trouble code means your vehicle’s engine control module has detected a misfire associated with Cylinder 5.

Because P0305 identifies one cylinder, diagnosis can be more focused than with P0300, which indicates random or multiple-cylinder misfires. However, P0305 does not automatically mean the Cylinder 5 ignition coil has failed.
