Information on the all-new 2023 Acura Integra has been releasing slowly, and Acura outdid itself once again. Honda fans have been rejoicing around the world since the new Acura was announced, and news that the new Integra would be offered with a six-speed manual could send purists into a rabid craze. Recent video clips of the Integra show that the Integra manual transmission would be of six-speed variety.

In the released video, Acura depicts the driver rowing through the gears in the all-new six-speed transmission. Overhead shots teased the action, while the sound delivers the distinct and visceral sound of the engine. What’s more, the video clip seems to hint at a turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain.

Sleek and sexy, the new Integra promises quite a bit under the hood. What’s more, could motor swaps and Integra manual transmission swap options could come to pass? There’s quite a bit of anticipation around this fact, and I for one, cannot wait for people to start their Honda engine swaps.

What does news of the Integra manual transmission tell us?

While some may disagree, I believe this news means that Honda will not shy away from interchangeable components. Given it’s long history, Honda and Acura definitely seem to be returning to performance modifications.

What parts or swaps could be possible with the new Integra? Given the nature of Honda / Acura and their propensity for platforms to share components, it’s fair to say the new Integra could share quite a bit with the Honda Civic. Could the turbocharged 1.5 liter VTEC found in the base Civic make it’s way to the Integra?

Better yet, could the 2.0 turbocharged Civic Si engine be a Type R variant? This could easliy happen, with the possibility of building a Civic Type R into a performance-oriented Type S version of the Integra. Both of these powertrains come with manual transmissions in the Civic, making the Integra manual transmission swaps a very real possibility.

Compared to the Civic, Acura is sure to make the Integra stand apart from the crowd. Given the teaser shots and videos, there’s bound to be more details and leaks to come.
