The US version of the 2020 Supra receives 50 less horsepower, or roughly 14 percent less power than it’s Bavarian counterpart. Will this difference be detectable for most drivers? And does this question not matter considering the large aftermarket following that’s bound to sprout up for both cars?

This puts the Z4 in the same territory as the 2017 Porsche 911, which has been clocked with a 3.9 second 0-60 mph sprint.

Meanwhile the 2020 Supra comes in at 3,300 lbs with just 335 horsepower. This puts the Japanese supercar at 9.9 pound/hp. While this isn’t as impressive as the BMW Z4 on the surface, Toyota claims that the 2020 Supra can reach 60mph in just 4.1 seconds. The Japanese 3.0-liter inline-six with 335 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque, will most certainly herald a new age of performance products bound to unlock the Supra’s true potential.
