Take a gander at the Transit Elevated Bus or the TEB, a bus that straddles the street and traffic making traffic jams a thing of the past.

It’s a brilliant idea that’s been executed in a variety of computer animations. The futuristic Chinese bus could solve the problem of mass transit for many countries across the world. Without disturbing the natural flow of urban traffic, this bus concept puts it’s passengers above the fray, literally. By straddling either side of the street, this Chinese bus gets you from point A to point B without the fuss and hassle of today’s mass transit solutions.

This electric straddling bus is currently a concept, but this futuristic Chinese bus is less costly than subway systems and requires far less maintenance. This futuristic Chinese bus was shown at the China Beijing International High Tech Expo. Although we’ve seen this electric bus concept before, it’s gaining traction and now is a definite reality.

Before this futuristic Chinese bus can be built, the infrastructure and rails must be built into the existing roads. This bus concept has been shown to carry up to 1200 people and it even features an elevator to allows people to board and leave on the street level.

China will build some huge buses that will allow smaller cars to pass by under them in order to relief urban traffic. The Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) is a high efficiency and low carbon urban transportation technology, and it could very well be the future of the mass transit as we know it.
