Seafoam Treatment is a petroleum based cleanser and water control agent that’s been used for years to clean the internals of your car or truck engine. Seafoam is engineered to be gasket and seal safe, and designed to avoid fouling spark plugs or oxygen sensors.

Over time the combination of contaminants in fuel or your failing fuel filter can lead to carbon deposits on your pistons, valves and the internals of your engine.

seafoamIntroducing Seafoam into the engine by way of a vacuum hose is an excellent way to safely clean your engine. It can also be used in your engine oil to clean passages as well as in your gasoline.

Why in your fuel tank? Ethanol will emulsify the water content in your fuel, using Sea Foam will eliminate the moisture and improve performance.

Cleaner engines are more efficient ones, which makes for more reliable vehicles, which means more money in your pocket.

Open the hood and use the prop to hold it open. Make sure you have enough airflow to proceed, because your car will be smoking quite a bit once you begin.

Start your engine and make sure to stay clear of the accessory belts and engine, do not wear any loose clothing and always be safe.

Locate the vacuum line for your fuel pressure regulator or even brake vacuum hose. There should be a vacuum from the hose, using your fingers gently pinch the hose to narrow the opening.

Pour in Seafoam through the vacuum hose and into the engine, make sure to go slowly as to not inject too much. If you do the engine will stall and you should be able to start it up once again.

If your engine keeps stalling out, have a friend try to increase the engine speed so that this does not happen. Make sure the vehicle is in neutral and don’t forget that there’s vacuum from that hose.

Use a third of the bottle or half if your car has high mileage. Seafoam recommends that you pour it into your fuel tank to clean your injectors or into your engine oil as shown here.
