Downtown Livermore will trade normal Sunday traffic for muscle cars, street rods, customs and vintage trucks when the 37th Annual Nostalgia Day Car Show returns on September 27, 2026.
Organized by the Altamont Cruisers, the show runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. along First Street and the surrounding downtown area. Vehicle registration is already closed, but spectator admission remains open. www.altamontcruisers.org
That sold-out registration should tell you something. Nostalgia Day isn’t a small parking-lot meet where 14 cars arrive and three belong to the organizers. Recent editions have brought approximately 750 to 800 vehicles into downtown Livermore, creating one of the East Bay’s largest annual displays of traditional American car culture.

Registration is closed, but spectators can still attend
The Altamont Cruisers have closed vehicle registration for the 2026 show. The club initially offered registration for $50, with the price increasing to $55 in July before the final deadline.
That does not mean the event itself is closed. Spectators can still visit downtown Livermore, walk through the show field and support the businesses and charitable organizations connected to the event.
Arriving early is the practical move. A downtown event involving hundreds of cars will affect parking and traffic, and the closest spaces will disappear long before the first person finishes explaining that his engine is technically a 383, not a 350.
Visitors should expect to walk several blocks and should avoid parking in restricted areas, private lots or spaces reserved for registered show vehicles. Comfortable shoes are more valuable here than another microfiber towel.
The show supports local charities
Nostalgia Day is more than a large collection of polished sheet metal. The Altamont Cruisers direct proceeds from the event toward local charitable organizations.
The club says charity fundraising has remained a central part of the show throughout its history. That community purpose helps distinguish Nostalgia Day from a commercial automotive exhibition built primarily around ticket sales and vendor booths.
Spectators support the effort by attending, participating in event activities and patronizing downtown businesses. The cars attract the crowd, but the money raised stays connected to the Livermore community.
Turn Saturday and Sunday into a Livermore car weekend

That creates a natural two-day schedule:

- Return Sunday for the full downtown Nostalgia Day show.

A different alternative to SPOCOM SF
The same weekend also brings SPOCOM SF to the San Mateo County Event Center on Saturday. SPOCOM concentrates on sport compacts, JDM builds, VIP cars, modern imports, engineering awards and contemporary tuner culture.
Nostalgia Day occupies a different lane. Its strength is traditional American iron, classic cruising and community history.
