Big block Miata swaps are nothing new. We’ve all seen insane Miata swaps with huge V8 engines such as the LS1 or the 302. Engine swaps may be common for the Mazda, but there’s nothing common about this Miata project from the Youtube channel KARR. Their Hellcat-powered roadster could be the craziest Mazda Miata swap of all time.
Engine swaps have long been the solution for enthusiasts who maybe love the car but not the powerplant. The folks at KARR have certainly taken that to a whole new level with Hellkitty.
Is this the craziest Mazda Miata swap ever?
Starting out life as a simple ordinary 1999 Miata, the Hellkitty build is well chronicled in their Youtube channel. There’s nothing ordinary about this incredible monster, however.
The first thing you notice is the cutout in the hood, that’s required in order to fit the Hellcat intake plenum. Supercharger clearance required multiple modifications to the chassis.
Other modifications for this crazy Miata swap include additional subframe and chassis reinforcements. Suspension components were upgraded from V8 Roadsters, with a locked 8.8 inch Ford rear differential. Wider rims and tires were also included, making this one of the craziest Mazda Miata swap projects we’ve ever seen.
Think you have what it takes to drive this monster? The Hellcat swapped Miata is actually headed to the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction. The popular car auction runs Oct. 3-5 and always coincides well with the SEMA show.
Currently, there is no reserve on the craziest Mazda Miata swap to ever hit Barrett-Jackson and understandably so. There’s not many owners that can handle this kind of crazy power to weight ratio.
What do you think about this engine swap project? Do you know of a car that would qualify over this one for the craziest Mazda Miata swap ever? Leave me a message and let me know!
