Insane Supra in Classic Import vs Domestic Showdown

When it comes to the classic “import vs domestic” drag race videos, there are plenty of insane Supra builds to represent turbo imports. None may be quite as awesome as this build featured in this 1320 video. Pitting a 1500 horsepower insane Supra vs a 1600 horsepower twin turbo truck, this video has the makings of an instant classic.

Powered by the legendary 2JZ the Supra was Toyota’s original supercar. Discontinued in 1998 the search is on for the new Supra. Whether you think it’s the new FT-1 or the LC500, there’s no shortage of candidates. The new supercar will definitely have it’s work cut out to replace the scores of insane Supra turbos out there in the world however.

The turbo powering the 2JZGTE is enormous and perhaps a bit too much for this particular race. The Toyota is a bit slow out of the gate and doesn’t have quite what it takes to catch up with the twin turbo truck in the end. This doesn’t take anything away from the beautiful build, because this insane Supra is still one fast car.

For 1320 video fans this twin turbo truck is definitely one that you may have seen in previous Street Outlaw videos. Nicknamed the Red Dragon this twin turbo truck is not to be played with, as evidenced in the video above.

In the end turbo imports will have to fight another day as the truck puts on a display of sheer power. Not sure what the truck is packing but it’s definitely got some serious heat under the hood.
