Press Release : AEM's Plug and Play Honda Harnesses

AEM’s Infinity ECU has certainly been well received by many racing teams and done exceptionally well in many arenas, no matter what kind of race. Continuing to build on their aftermarket ecu and electronics components success, AEM has rolled out several new products we’ve outlined in posts previously, including one of our personal favorites the LS swap harness.

What is the AEM Infinity ECU?

The Infinity ECU is a true standalone ecu / pcm that can control and adjust your engine’s operating parameters and has been tested in the most rigorous of endurance races. The Infinity ECU controls all of the engine functions and the AEM Plug & Play wiring harness adapter eliminates the need for cutting and splicing wires.

What’s so special about the AEM Infinity ECU?

The AEM Infinity ECU is a powerful PCM thats capable of lightning fast adjustments based on engine inputs. Able to adjust fuel injector pulsewidth’s within 1/10th of a microsecond, the AEM Infinity ECU can also adjust cylinders individually dependant on user adjustments and engine RPM.

Now available with many different plug and play harnesses, the AEM Infinity also includes a separate Wideband 02 sensor and connector, AEMnet connector for troubleshooting with your local AEMnet dyno tuner and optional auxiliary connectors with a Deutsch DTM 12P connector for adding inputs like fuel pressure, air inlet temperature, MAP, oil temperature, ethanol content sensor and more.

With plug and play harnesses and support for so many newer vehicles and engines, one unbelievable listing was oddly missing from the lineup. AEM has corrected that oversight by releasing a new lineup of plug and play harnesses for the Infinity-6 and 8h programmable ECU, specifically designed for Honda/Acura applications.

Fresh for the H drivers out there, the new Infinity plug and play harnesses will include manual transmission support as well as covering a broad range of ecu’s and motors. From the OBDI family of B, D and H series engines in the year range of 1992-1995 come the flying looms that will enable a true plug and play solution.

AEM didn’t forget the OBD2 guys either with support for the K20 series engine found in the 2001-2005 Honda racing engines. With full OBD2B support and the ability to plug and play with no worries, the OBD2 group of AEM harnesses also includes the 1996-2001 B, D and H series engines as well.

The Infinity ECU for these applications includes an engine-specific start-up calibration and connects via Plug & Play harnesses that are sold separately. And at affordable pricing and excellent quality, you don’t have to look far when it comes to your Honda/ Acura standalone ECU harnesses.

But what truly has our juices flowing is the coil-on-plug conversion for all OBDI and OBD2 B, D and H series engines, because AEM is really upping the game here for Honda and Acura fans.

The AEM ignition coil connectors on the OBD1/OBD2 B/D/H adapter harnesses enables racers to easily convert their B/D/H series Honda race engine to coil-on-plug without having to modify the ECU’s connector or make any changes to the jumpers in the ECU.

For those who haven’t yet seen our How To Convert a Honda to Distributorless Ignition Setup writeup, and are still running a stock distributor, you will be pleased to know that AEM has you covered. For racers who are still running a distributed ignition, an ignition coil adapter is available that plugs into the ignition coil Deutsch connector (PN 30-3501-00, sold separately).

All Infinity systems currently come fully enabled without the need for feature add-on purchases. Combined with AEM’s industry leading after-purchase support system, including free technical support, the Infinity is the ultimate engine control solution for both professional race teams and weekend track cars.

The Infinity’s airflow-based tuning models simplify start up and speed up the tuning process by eliminating many of the lookup and trim tables (Correction Tables) necessary in previous generation ECUs.

Happy Tuning!
