Mitsubishi Lancer Stereo Wiring Diagram

Whether you are looking into upgrading your stereo or your speakers in your Lancer, this Mitsubishi Lancer stereo wiring diagram is all you need. Upgrading your Mitsubishi Lancer stereo has never been so easy. Simply find the year of your Lancer and match up the wires that you are having difficulty with. This guide is here to help you wire up your Lancer speakers or complete the Lancer radio install.

Today I’ll be showing you how to wire up anything in your Mitsubishi Lancer stereo. We’ll be covering all the years from 2000 onward, and showing you what wire does what. Because the early model Lancers on this page share quite a bit with the early Evolution VIII, you may notice quite a few similarities.

One of the biggest similarities is the layout of the single DIN system above the Lancer climate controls. Although it’s not impossible to install a double DIN stereo, you may need an install kit to either relocate your climate control knobs or to make more room.

In the earlier models the configuration of your Lancer stereo does limit your upgrade options a bit. However  you won’t need to undo or remove your center console to access your Lancer radio. Instead simply pull off the climate control knobs and you can lift up on the entire panel.

Once you’ve got the old Lancer stereo removed, you can begin wiring up the power and ground signals to your new radio. Complete the install by simply securing your new Lancer stereo to the dashboard. You will not need an install kit for most single DIN radio.

The next generation of Lancer changed quite a bit with the dashboard and stereo. These changes make Lancer stereo upgrades a little more difficult, but the wiring remains fairly simple. In order to upgrade your Lancer stereo, you’ll need to remove the front fascia as the previous generation.

Because this year range of Mitsubishi Lancer first incorporated steering wheel controls, you may need an adapter kit to make these controls work again. This of course depends on your Lancer stereo of choice, and what kind you’ll be installing moving forward. Either way, most of the aftermarket Lancer stereo install jobs will require a new mounting kit.

The Lancer trigger wire for your stereo is a pink one, although some aftermarket installers prefer the switched ignition from your Mitsubishi steering column.

For those people who happen to own the 2010+ Lancer, we’ll cover the navigation units as well as the non-navigation systems below.

The new changes from 2010 onward included an excellent navigation system upgrade. These changes extended to the power antenna wire, which much like the previous model is still a pink wire. However the difference between the 2010 – 2015 and the pre-2010 models is that the remote antenna is not required unless you have a roof antenna in place.

The speakers for the Lancer up front are located in the door panels, unless you are also looking for the tweeter location. You can find the rear Lancer speaker mounted in the rear quarter panel of the back seats.
