The Rolls Royce Vision 100 is Batshit Crazy

One of the oldest names in luxury and opulence, Rolls-Royce has set the bar impossibly high with the new Rolls Royce Vision 100. In case you were wondering, the video above is indeed real and not some elaborate hoax. What you see in front of you is the exceptional concept car from Rolls Royce, that looks straight out of a sci-fi movie flick.

What is it? The Rolls Royce Vision 100 is a fully autonomous luxury concept car. It combines the ultimate aspects of the futuristic luxury cars, like ride quality, interior luxury, and finish. Whereas other luxury concept cars do a great job in design, the Rolls Royce Vision 100 apologetically cranks up these aspects to the ridiculous extremes.

Checking in at nearly 20 feet long, the Vision 100 looks and feels like a land yacht. It’s a chariot built for the finest of tastes and it puts on a grand display in stunning style. The Rolls Royce Vision 100 embraces the self driving aspect by removing the dashboard and instruments. The zero-emissions Vision 100 gives it’s two occupants the ultimate in room and luxury, and isolates them fully from the driving experience.

Self driving cars are closer than most people know, and it’s a technology that is as cutting edge as any other. As the parent company, BMW has been heading up autonomous concepts in their vehicles, and other German automakers like Mercedes Benz are following suit.

Inside the layout for the Rolls Royce Vision 100 is more spacious and nicer than the apartment I had in college. It contains a couch and various styling concepts that make it luxuriously unique. At the center of the Vision 100 is a full cabin-width transparent OLED display. The plush carpet is made from “hand-twisted silk” and this silk is also part of the upholstery.

The Vision 100 uses a virtual assistant, one that Rolls is calling Eleanor. It’s a callback to famous actress Eleanor Thornton, whom the iconic Rolls Royce hood ornament is supposed to represent.

Wood accents and grain are present as a subtle hint to the past, while the rest of the Vision 100 screams the future. Everything from the interior to the crazy layout of the gull-wing doors and trunk areas are meant to make a statement. It’s a statement that only the craziest or the richest may be able to afford, but it won’t stop jaws from dropping wherever the Rolls Royce Vision 100 goes. Want to find a way to flaunt your conspicuous wealth? This luxury concept car is the best way to do it.
