Tearing apart the record books during the 2016 RST Superbike TT event, Michael Dunlop officially became the fastest man at the legendary Isle of Man. As the new Isle of Man record holder, Dunlop completed his first two laps around the 38 mile course in just under 17 minutes.

The Snaefell Mountain Course is one of the most iconic stretches and tracks on the planet. Coined the Isle of Man run, the new Isle of Man record lap is just 19 seconds faster than the runner-up. Dunlop set the new Isle of Man record at 16 minutes and 58.254 seconds, with his six lap record stands at 1 hour, 44 minutes and 14.259 seconds.
We are just at the halfway point of 2016, which means that the new Isle of Man record could still fall again. There are many people closely following the racers that will be partaking in the Senior TT. Who knows if someone will end up breaking the new Isle of Man record then, but one thing is for sure, Dunlop’s record breaking run is an incredible video to watch.
