Subaru Confirms STI Wagon

Finally after months of rumors and teasers, Subaru has finally confirmed the STI wagon. Otherwise known as the Levorg outside of the US, the all new STI wagon is finally official. For those that don’t know what the Subaru Levorg is, it’s a bit like a Forester with that special WRX feel.

Developed to be the sporty wagon that Subaru fans have lacked for years, the STI wagon could fill a serious void. As the first five door Subaru since the WRX hatch, the STI wagon will certainly be a hotly anticipated vehicle. But there’s a few questions, namely will it be coming stateside?

It also remains to be seen what kind of modifications the STI wagon will come with however.  Whether the STI wagon will be a lot like the Impreza STI or a confused trim type of upgrade like the BRZ STI remains to be seen in other words.

One thing we do know is that Subaru has teased the specifications behind the Levorg S Concept. Subaru showed off the concept wagon at last year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. The STI wagon concept flexed a long list of JDM goodies, from the upgraded suspension and aero parts.

This STI themed five door packs a six speed manual transmission paired to the classic EJ boxer 2.0L turbo four cylinder. Initial reports on the STI wagon has put the power plant cranking out well over 300 horsepower, which would make a lot of US Subaru fans very happy.

Despite these teaser specifications, no details on the production version of the vehicle have been made. Like many other cool cars, we do know that the STI wagon will be offered in Japan but it might not make the cut in America.

Still, Subaru fans have waited more than 2 years for a wagon, and they are finally geting their wish. Whether or not the new wagon makes it to the United States is another deal all together. Subaru fans could always import a wagon if the option to buy isn’t available from the jump however.
