2017 Nissan Armada Review

The Armada has enjoyed a small revival with the dip in oil prices, and Nissan is forging full speed ahead with the full size SUV. The 2017 Nissan Armada promises to be one of the most advanced SUV’s released this year. Remodeled for the first time since it’s inception, the new Armada is the US version of the Nissan Patrol. Freshly restyled, packed full of features the full size SUV retains eight passenger seating and lots of room to do whatever you need.

Although it’s 2 inches shorter than the current model and 2.3 inches lower, the 2017 Nissan Armada will also be slightly longer. At the heart of the new Armada will be the 5.6 liter Endurance V8 engine. Increasing output by almost 80 horsepower from the current 317 mark, the 2017 Nissan Armada comes with 390 horsepower and 400 ft lbs of torque.

Making use of Nissan’s direct injection fuel system and combined with an improved variable valve technology, the new Armada is also mated to an all new seven speed transmission. Nissan is currently touting the 2017 Nissan Armada as the fastest full size SUV in it’s class.

Available in Rear Wheel Drive and AWD versions, the 2017 Nissan Armada flexes a towing capacity of up to 8,500 lbs. The all wheel drive variation will also feature low range gearing that can actively deliver more torque to wheels that are slipping. In fact Nissan says that their AWD system will help adapt to terrain on the fly, making the Armada one of the most advanced handling full size SUV’s at release.

Other advanced features of the 2017 Armada include a front and rear double-wishbone suspension system that will increase the handling characteristics. Frame rail mounted much like the Nissan Titan, the new Nissan SUV should be much easier to drive than the current model.

Other upgrades to the 2017 Nissan Armada include an aggressive styling makeover. One of the first things you’ll notice is the front bumper styling. The 2017 Nissan Armada includes the bold “V Motion” grille between the LED head lamps and fog lights.

The aggressive fender flares and front fascia cover up the set of air intake ducts that are mounted behind the front fenders. Delivering fresh air to the 5.6 liter Endurance V8, the 2017 Nissan Armada definitely looks the part.

The interior of the Nissan SUV will come standard with seating for eight people, including a third row bench seat. The second row can combine with the rear to offer a functional 60/40 split and second-row captain’s chairs are also an option. The 2017 Nissan Armada will come in SV, SL, and Platinum models that come standard with an 8 inch interactive screen and navigation system. Nissan also states that there’s a bevy of upgrades to the interior sound insulation that will offer a superior ride that’s isolated from road noise.

Overall the 2017 Nissan Armada will offer quite a bit for those looking for the next generation of full size SUV. Want to learn more about the all new Nissan SUV? Check out more at www.nissanusa.com or subscribe to My Pro Street for all the latest in tech tips, DIY articles and automotive news.
