The first Frontier uses a double DIN setup which is located in the center console. Upgrading the factory Frontier radio is simple to do, and usually you won’t require a new stereo bracket.

Second Gen Nissan Frontier stereo wiring 2001-2004

The changes to the next generation of Frontier truck include moving the radio higher on your dashboard. This can make it easier to upgrade although certain single DIN stereos can be difficult, especially if you are using a motorized face.
