Third Gen 626 Stereo Wiring 1982–1987
One of the earlier Mazda 626 stereo setups found on our wiring guide, the third generation used the typical single DIN configuration.

The early models did use an odd sized pocket which was larger than a typical double DIN stereo. The front Mazda 626 speakers were found in the front door panels. These speakers are 4″ in size and they can be tapped into the following speaker wire diagram below.

Fifth Gen 626 Stereo Wiring 1992-1997
The climate controls made the move above the Mazda stereo in this year range. This makes upgrading your Mazda 626 stereo more difficult if you have a motorized face or flip up screen. New Mazda 626 stereo mounting hardware will be needed to ensure that the your screen will not run into the climate controls or the Mazda dashboard.

Sixth Gen 626 Stereo Wiring 1997–2002
