The 2015 SEMA Show is just around the corner, and to lead the charge against Ford the Chevy Red Line Series has just been announced. These concept cars are designed to showcase the flexibility and robust range of Chevy models for the 2016 model year. These Chevy Red Line Series vehicles will soon be offered as an option from the factory for 2016 models like the Camaro, Malibu, Trax, Colorado, and Silverado 1500.
Topping off the combination of performance modifications, the new Red Line series comes a silver metallic paint job with red accents. Coined Satin Graphite, the new look Chevy vehicles will also sport a two tone charcoal roof and several red highlights along their bodylines and rims.
Chevy hopes that the new Red Line vehicles will begin to loosen the chokehold that Ford seems to have on the SEMA show, having won 4 consecutive years. Following the Ford gameplan that’s led to the success of the Mustang, Chevy will continue to build in the Red Line Series in offering a complete lineup of modifications for their vehicles.
Many of these bolt on upgrades consist of the basic intake and exhaust options, especially for the 3.6 liter V6 as well as the 6.2 liter V8 Camaro. There’s also a high flow intake system in the works scheduled for release for the 2016 model year as well. Chevy will also be offering a complete lineup of suspension modifications set to lower the Camaro. Many of the suspension kits are manufactured for the LT and SS models and coupes, all available for purchase through the dealership, without voiding your warranty.
And they wonder why the aftermarket industry is dying out so quickly.
Jim Campbell, the US VP of performance for GM asserts that these concepts are more than a sign of things to come.
The Chevrolet Red Line Series concepts integrate accessories that offer greater personalization choices, each vehicle wears production and concept accessories thematically linked under the Red Line Series banner. We look forward to gauging public reaction at the SEMA Show and other venues.
