Meet Reggie Showers.. More than a Racer

We share a common theme of passion for motorsports and having fun while racing. It’s easy to admire and watch a champion excel in his sport, winning titles and races backed by big corporate sponsors and lots of dollars. It’s not easy being a professional racer at any level, let alone at the IDBA and NHRA circuits.

It takes courage and a bit of stupidity to strap yourself to any piece of machinery going this fast. They call them professionals for a reason.

So imagine what we thought when we heard about Reggie Showers, a double amputee racer who has gone on to make history, winning the NHRA Pro Stock Bike Division. Reggie lost both of his legs below the knee at 14 while playing near a train yard. Instead of turning his back on his dreams, instead Reggie forged ahead, not only making his dreams come true but inspiring thousands around the world to reach for something bigger.

Reggie has won on both the IDBA and NHRA circuits, and doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. And if his sheer indomitable will tells us anything, the rest of the field should keep an eye in the rear view mirror.

Good on you Mr Showers, keep up the good fight.
