The SR20DET engine swap isn’t quite the popular engine choice anymore, with all the LS1 and RB/2JZ swaps running around. But there’s still no stopping true 240SX enthusiasts who don’t believe in shoving an American pushrod motor into their 240, nor a inline six iron block such as the 2JZ and RB.
Prices have fallen quite a bit for JDM engines in accordance with falling demand, making the SR20 less of a budget swap than it used to be. When you calculate the prices of engine swaps alone, the truth remains that you aren’t truly saving that much when compared to other motors.
