Overpriced yes, overrated not sure. It's too early too tell... most great games don't exploit the full potential of consoles until much later in the release.

I don't think its overpriced too much, the features are awesome. I will just wait until the price drops a little, but it won't drop too much

i think its probably overhyped... anybody that will go out and spend $1000+ on a game system, let alone one that retails for $600 has some serious problems.. but then again, i then again you could say its overpriced too.... although its basically a quality gaming computer that you can plug into the TV... I am not gonna buy it until its sub $300, which with the feature set and from what sony is claiming taking a $200 loss on each unit sold... (not sure if i believe that or not), but if that is the case i dont see the price going down anytime soon.

I know sony said they didnt release nearly as many units as they planned originally due to the battery fiasco w/ laptops.
