YOU are a turbo.

We all know it's the cool thing to do to annoy all of the old people in your town cruizing extra slow with your subs turned way up (not really). But my subs/sub box weight about 50lbs. That's WAY too much weight. When I'm driving around with one person in my back seat, I can tell that my car is chuggin'. The only reason my car can move as fast as it does is because it weighs nothing. What can I do? What else can I do (cheaply) to reduce weight?

gut it out you dont need a radio so you can get rid of that panels are just to make it look comfortable. seats the only one you should worry about is your seat (unless you only got this car then 2 seats). replace the factory seats remove spare tire. some carpeting can go. just some ideas

It's a daily driver, but I want to race it, and it to look nice. I don't want a gaping hole in the back of my car, but I don't mind not having a backseat. So I'm kind of split between show and go.

if you do it right by adding fiberglass to cover that up it will weigh less. you can have a nice car that weighs next to a nothin

yeah some decent weight can be shaved with new seats but they will be very expensive. theres quite a bit of weight savings to be gained from removing the front and rear bumper supports, i dont know how good of any idea that would though lol. otherwise there isnt much to lose without just replacing a bunch of things for small savings that will add up. for example: lighter battery, steering wheel, hood, trunk, wheels. other things you would have to sacrifice like, interior pieces, sound deadening, power steering, and air conditioning. ummmmm you could go on a diet if need be, easier to shave 20lbs off your gut then your car

don't get rid of your spare tire i read to many times of people walking for a llloooonnnggg time when one tire blows.and if you keep it also get the tools. it's useless if you bring the spare but don't have the tools to change it. and you should do what he said about your weight.

I think I'm going to take out my backseat and subs and fiberglass. Sounds like a plan!

Damn, money bags!
I'm in college! I break the bank everytime I get an oil change! If I had that much money I'd be driving a 350z not a Sentra. Oh, and your RX-7 is BADASS! |

i went to college, so i know how that is. just be patient and you can do whatever you want when you have money. no point in wasting what little money you have now for no meaningful benefit.

I forgot to ask...I have a Nitrous Kit coming...
NOS Sneaky Pete It's a dry system. Can I run that streight to my intake? I don't know much about install on Nitrous, but I want to learn, so what better way then to do it myself (and pray I don't blow myself up) |

fiberglassing is cheap if you do it your self all i got to say is be very patetient with it because it does take time i would arrange a ride for atleast 2 days if you do it. you wont want to be in the car to much with the fumes and you got to let it dry. you can remove the spare if you got plenty of people the will help you out. ihve and one tire slashed with out my spare and was back on the road in 30 mins. an im still pissed at the person that did it.
use the nitrous smart don't want you get pulled over. or death. it'll give us tuners a bad name even more.
