If a battery loses it's charge even while you drive...

...is it the alterator or the starter? I can't remember. The battery
has been tested and it's fine. Happening on my 240.

starter is only used for starting the car, not keeping it going.

Could also be a worn belt. I had a similar problem years ago and went thru a new battery, alternator, coil, starter and after replacing all that it ended up being a worn belt.
