it says "sorry video no longer available"
i bet it sounded nice though, if the engine we assembled in class(350's,305's,etc. that were all beat up) sounded nice , I'm sure your dads sounds 10x(or maybe infinite) better |

if you notice at 1:16 when i show the charger emblem on the front, the r/t emblem had rattled off...by dad has sinced fixed it with some small locking washers.
scotty, if you have never been or seen under the hood of an American car made before 1980, then you have some homework ahead of you my friend. there is no reason for that space between the front of the body and the radiator, but i can assure you it's not an uncommon styling of the muscle car era. a long nose and a short rear deck was the aesthetic choice for all major American cars during that time. hit up some shows man, you will see what im talking about. ![]()

at first these cars are pretty cool, but until you have stood next to something like a 426 hemi car running open headers....then you find it difficult not to compare every other car to that.

well, Dodge didn't have the Charger out, and i couldn't have afforded the SRT model if i wanted it then, but i wanted a car from my era, the tuning era, that was still a Dodge! My Dad and his Brothers are big dodge guys, and all own a restored, or are still restoring muscle cars. i wanted something from my generation that could hang with em. i started out looking at an Evo, then an STI, but on my way to look at the subie, the salesman made me drive the SRT over to another dealership lot. well, it wasn't love at first sight, but when the sti turned out to be an automatic, i inquired more about the SRT. i talked it over with the old lady and decided that i could save some money to buy more mods if i went with the srt, and it would be a neon....yeah a neon putting up big numbers and running away from hot rods! i loved it! i am all about the sleeper, the unassuming car capable of embarrassing people. so that's what i have been building, but i can tell you, its not as easy as just bolting up and riding off, i would say 85 percent of my time is getting all the parts to mesh, and tuning them to produce a lot of power. sometimes, i wish i would have bought my dream car, 1968 Hemi Dart, much easier to build and maintain, but i am having fun! i love and respect the muscle car, and one day, mine will be handed down to me, but until then, i am going to work with the tools of my generation, a neon....just a neon.

well jev, mopar stage 3 would not be enough to keep up with a hemi, so i went with agp turbochargers kit, and then kind of built around that. more power needed better breaking and suspension. then i could support more power, then i needed better tires, then i could support more power. that's the short version of how the build kind of went. now i am done with building power, just working on reliability and consistency now.
