Default New Setup

I just bought a DC Sound Lab Level 4 15" sub and a Cadence Z1200 amp. The sub is 1000RMS and 2000Peak, but can take about 1500RMS and about 2500Peak. Very under rated by DC. The Cadence amp is rated at 1200 at 1-ohm which the sub will run at safely. Its also very under rated. Both are being bought used off of CA.com The guy with the Z1200 amp blew 4 RE Audio SE subs. 600 watts a piece. So the amp actually puts out about 2400Peak. I will be custom building the box for the recommended specs of the sub. It will be in a 4 cube ported box. A single DC Sound Lab Level can hit about 151-155dbs depending on the electrical system. Ill post pics when they get here in the mail. I should have the sub tomorrow.

Well the sub cost me $190 shipped from Cali. Normally they go for about $250-$300 used and run $480 new. The amp cost me $180 shipped and runs $620 new. The stuff for the box is going to cost me about $30 for 3/4" MDF board, $30 for carpet, and another $15 for speaker wire, terminals, and other random odds and ends. I may just paint it and do some sort of sweet design on it. My budget was $400 put in place by my wife. So far Im at $370. Ive stuck pretty close to what was planned. Its mind boggling that I got almost a $1200 system for $400. Thats not including the door speakers, rear speakers, and the headunit that Ive paid for either.

I have a Pioneer DEH5800MP. Im thinking about selling it or trading it straight up for a higher Alpine 8 or 9 series deck. Damn thing cost me $250 new not including the 2 year warranty I purchased from Circuit City. Guess I should have saved money there. The speakers are Pioneer TSA6991 6x9's and Pioneer TSA1371 5.25". The 6x9s are 500 watts a piece and the 5.25" are about 180 a piece. Im going to be amping them with a 4 chan soon.

Its the amount of speakers you can hook up. 4 channel would be 4 speakers, 2 channel would be 2 speakers, mono blocks can be used a different way. You can hook as many speakers or subs up to a mono block and the output of the mono block is divided by all of the speakers or subs on it evenly. Say you had 4 subs on a 2000 watt peak mono block. Each sub would get 500 watts a piece.

Well I got the sub yesterday in the mail. The smaller silver disc is a Shrek DVD for comparison.
