personally i'm parshall to short-ram.
obvisously the advantage of the CAI, is the cold it it'll bring to the motor, the drawback being that its a much longer tube its harder for the motor to pull the air through, put it this way a short-ram is like sucking though a straw and a CAI is like sucking through a garden hose obvisously a big difference. i'm your case i would go with an AEM SRI, wrapped in a nice a cosey cold air box. this will definatly increase the air intake CFM and with the hot air around the engine from going in the engine. This will give you the best of both worlds. Thanks for your question.

ok so i was looking at the aem sri and they didnt make it for my cavalier. butt i started looking around and i like the weapon r secret weapon short ram and they also make the cold air box. so would it be ok to go that route. also with the cold air box ..like how does that work? does it just go over the filter wherever the short ram ends or do you have to mount it to a specific place?

well im not very firmiliar with cavaliers that much but a SRI normally will run close to where the stock intake ran, and by taking out the old air box there should be plenty of room to mount the aftermarket air-box.
And if its made for your car the manufactuer probably has it premade to fit in the stock location. Ohh, and yes the air box only houses the filter.
