Default 84 celica...now for the rest

I think ive settled between the 2jz and the 1jz. they seem to be about the same size so if i have a problem with one fitting in the car, i guess the other would too. now trying to figure out which trans to pick. Theres the r154 and v16. read good things about both except that the r154 has a weak first gear thrust washer. But yet it can handle around 700 horses stock. Any one have any experience with either or both?
Also, i need to find everything else to get this project going drive shaft, rear axle etc. Once i get the money the celica's getting totally gutted. If anyone knows some sites to check out, lemme know.

Thanks again to all.

i don't know about the info i would have to research that.

well i don't think it would be a bad compromise to go for the one with a weakness, but if you don't want your car to have one then go with the other one.

with the rear end choices available for the stock rear end the R154 is the better choice since it will fit in the tunnel much better and the gear ratios will work better than the V160, plus you don't really need to worry about having a close ratio 6 spd in a car as light as a celica.
