Default 84 celica picking the right motor

This cars a pain. I kinda wanted to mod the 22re but, ive little luck finding info on doing it or the parts. kind of leaning towards a swap. liking the sound of a 1jz or a 2jz so far. so if i swap at least ill have the spare 22rec and i can spend time tryin to get that mod'd.i love the sound of the 2 because of the massive amount of stored power it holds. and yet i hear the 1 holds a higher rev with dual turbos i think i read when the 2 has 1. (think thats right)
Ultimately i want to drift my car. I don't know how much modding ill have to do to my 84 celicas engine compartment. There is quite a bit of open space in there for an inline 6. but does anyone know for a fact what i may have to do. I've found 84's online with the 2j but no pics or info on how they did it.
spent half the day researching this car and yet....................
RESEARCH IS FAR FROM OVER.

PS- also have others i havent researched such as the 1ggte & gge - the 3sgte & sge. read lots thought all the m series motors are crap.

7mgte is shorter and it wil fit a W58(stock) or R154 transmission in the stock tunnel. 7mgte's will easily make 300hp+tq, which hauls ass in a light car like a celica. www.celica-gts.com there are a couple people who have done straight 6 swaps. also a member with an LS1
