Default Looking for ideas

I am just looking for anyone to give me some ideas or tips in regards to my car. I only have a couple pictures up in my profile but I am in the process of getting more for everyone to see. Also I am just looking for some people to chat with about cars and everything

hey start with the basic for just about any car the intake headers and exhaust. it will give a little hp boost and can even help your fuel mileage and as a bonus can give you a great sounding engine

I was thinking about swapping my engine for the turbo SR20DET put performance headders on it with a cold air intake, and catback exaust, and because the engine is a turbo I would be looking at a nice apex controller with boost gauges. With those alone I would be looking at around 300 HP but I would like to get around 350 horse

just saying info from what i read on project car.

they put a sr20det into a 240sx did the exhaust part and other stuff i can't remember and only got 198hp.

but i think it may be that they just didn't push it enough. but it was tuned by one of the big companies .

but if your swapping it what about a intercooler upgrade, lol.

well according to this one website the SR20DEV puts out Horsepower: 205ps @ 6000rpm with Torque: 203 ft/lbs @ 40 also the stock boost being 7psi what the major company probably didn't do is increase the boost psi up to 13-15 psi which is a safe number for the stock engine. this is what they said

The stock turbo will be safe to 13-15 psi. After that, the turbo is past its efficiency range, and power increases will fall off and are not worth the risk of turbo damage. The engine should produce 230-250 RWHP at safe boost.

Now I know that those figgures will definately vary based on vehicle weight and many other varying factors.

My big worry is the fact that I am driving a FWD vehicle and the SR20DEV is a RWD engine would that still be ok to install into my car?

oh yeah that is going to be a hard swap to do. you have to remember fwd cars the engine sits sideways and the tranny is either on the left or right side and with a rwd the engine sits in the forward postion witht he tranny going out the rear. if you go through with that swap you will need to change your front and rear axles as well not to mention make the engine fit in a different position than you current engine is in. now of course if you can bolt up a fwd tranny to that engin than you might not have those problems

know of any good FWD turbo engines that would work, given I understand that I would have to change my suspension and clutch with the new performance engine but that won't be a problem, I am just going to be buying parts and storing them till I have everything all together to have installed at once rather than having it installed piece by piece

man, that sounds like a lot of work for only 230 hp. if i were going to do a motor swap i would certainly hope i would gain a lot more power then that !

are you even sure that motor would fit in your car?
and do you realize what a pain it would be to do the swap?

yeah I was thinking about it fitting because the new motor is RWD and my car is FWD and without switching my axle's it would be a pain etc. So I am now looking for other means to increase horse power.

why dont you just look into a turbo for your engine or even I hate to say it nitrous. modding the engine you got would be way cheaper than buying a new engine getting it installed and then modding it
