Question Exhaust Diameter

Ok I was wondering if a difference between the diameter on the muffler inlet and the exhaust piping would cause any problems. Everything is stock without a turbo

The only thing that should be affected is the sound, granted that it is a smaller inlet progressing into a larger outlet (tip). If it's reverse it will definitely affect performance

ok so what your saying is that as long as its going smaller to larger performance will not be affected, but if its the other way around performance will be affected

Yep, free flow is good but not too much, some restriction is still need (NA vs TURBO). Remember this is how your engine breathes. Think about yourself, if you can't breathe properly or if you are breathing to fast. There must be a balance in rhythm between the intake, engine and exhaust

yeah think of it as a road that goes from two lanes down to one.. traffic flow is going smooth until the right lane ends the traffic bottle necks and the road becomes congetsted... that is what will happen with your exhaust if it goes from larger to smaller. but if it goes smaller to larger it would be just like a one lane road open to two lanes and suddenly cars can pick up speed and get out faster
