Default Ignition switch replacement walkthrough (CRX)

I went out to my crx after dragging on sunday morning and nothing happened. The clutch was all the way in but nothing, not even a click... So i wipped out the ole haynes and did some investigating. I narrowed it down to the ignition switch. The car still started but i have to run a jumper wire from the positive end of the battery to the metal prog that was coming from the ignition switch to the starter. (make sence?)
It basically gives power to the starter but u have to have the key in the ii position. It should turn over.

I used this start to head down to autozone and pick up a $60 ingition switch. Bring the jumper wire with u, unless u plan to leave the car running while you go into the store.

Ok. now the actual procedure:
1. disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery
2. pop off the honda H symbol from the center of the steering wheel.
3. make a scratch on the bolt inside the steering wheel and a scratch or mark on the steering wheel so that when you reinstall, you can line the steering wheel up with the steering shaft.
4. take off the steering wheel
5. unscrew the 3 screws under the steering colum
6. pop off the little metal ring that is around plastic that is around the steering colum (make sence haha?)

you should see the the ingition switch now. compare to you new one to see what needs to be unhooked.

7. if i remember correctly, the 2 small bolt that go into the key cylinder are 6mm. remove them
8. unscrew the small screw that is near the 2 6mm bolts.
9. unhook the plastic electic connectors
10. (OPTIONAL) the previous owner had an alarm to my car so i had to do some rewiring of the black wire with the white strip. If you just mimic what you see, you should be ok. lol

But thats about it. DONT FORGET TO RECONNECT YOUR STARTER TO YOUR INGINTION. i scared myself when it didnt start but i just had to reconnect that little "hot wire" connection that i used to start the car without a good ingintion switch.

Thanks for reading. let me know if this needs corrections
