Project 240-LS1

Here we will begin the epic journey to build a tremendous performer from the 240 platform and show you how / why / when things go together as they should. We will also encompass a great many technical things about the 240 as well within the scope of this thread.

Well, here she is, we found her in a junkyard no hood, no rims and no love. We inspected the chassis and scrounged around until we found mixmatch rims and tires and slapped it on her! 700 dollars later we have our basis for one great street car.

We brought her home to find that the poor lil SOHC motor had spun a rod ( knock knock knock... do you hear that man? )

no big deal, we are replacing her with :

a LS1 from a 2001 WS6 Ram Air.

Preparing the chassis

We have stripped out the inside of the 240, and we'll begin to break out these updates like a table of contents. After seam welding the interior panels and frame points, we begin to install our cage :

Sound insulation and stock wiring removal :

Installing the main hoop and rear points :

Cutting out the rear spare tire hump and mounting a x brace in back:

We will be sealing up the trunk and other related areas, re-installing our stock fuel tank for now and beginning to trouble shoot some of the electrical gremlins in our car before continuing on the swap! Thanks for looking

Update to the 240, the SOHC is out, engine bay has been prepped, new seat, new wheel, and fuel system is beginning to come together!
