Default BENEN IND. Tow Hook Install (SRT 4)

this thread is more for people who have purchased the BENEN IND tow hook, or any similar tow hook but have no place to install. with some imagination, and a drill, you can make it look as if its OEM!!!

i used an electric drill, a 1/2 inch drill bit, a smaller bit for a pilot hole, number 11? wrenches, and i have to buy some longer bolts at the hardware store.

these are the longer bolts, and the black stuff is under body coating, i just didn't wait for it to dry fully!

i began by placing the tow hook where i wanted it, and circling inside the holes with a marker, that way, i knew where to start drilling. drilling is going to take a large chunk of time, specifically if your going through reinforced frame like i was. i would say about an 45 minutes will be spent, if you keep sharpening your bit.

after your holes are complete, install the backing plate and make sure the holes line up

next, install the tow hook and check for clearance of the back bumper once again.

install the washer and nuts to the ends of the bolts and tighthen about a 1/4 turn past snug

enjoy the fit and finish, the one- off look and the added security that someone can pull your car out of a ditch, not just your back bumper.

I didnt but since it was a tow hook was starting to wonder why you put it on the rear of the car instead of the front. but then I saw the video. so do you drive into ditches a lot?

well thats not my car, but to put one on the front of my car will take a little more time, a little more planning, and some body work i don't want to do..... actually many racing circuits will require one to have a tow hook on the front and the back, since you know, you don't really decide how you end up in the ditch...

The installation looks good. That is the first Benen tow hook I've seen on a non Honda/Acura.
