yeah was just going to tell you that. now you have to open it up and find the pin hole that your manual says is for the tach. I found a how to but for a f250 2002 and it says the pin hole is number 48 so it might be as well on your car but make sure and if the correct spot already has a wire just slice it and that should get you up and running oh also. if you didnt run your power wire into the fuse box you need to add in inline fuse. you should never run anything electrical in your car with out a fuse for it

i have ran into another problem the wiring diagram show that the tach goes either to the powertrain control module or the battery junction box, the later makes no sence.

yes open it up so you can see where all the wires go to. do you know which connection id for the stock tach? do it list it in the wire diagrams of your manual? if you arent sure which one to plug into call ford and ask them

also if you want to save yourself some time and trouble i came across a site that says if you want to add a tach remove you gauge cluster and go to the junk yard and buy a gauge cluster that has a tach and plug it in in place of the original one. I also found that 99 and later fords may not work with seperate tachs witout a driver. chack out the posthttp://www.focushacks.com/index.php?modid=7
