Default Spectre Performance?

So am I correct in thinking that the only thing spectre does is tell you what pieces to use in order to make intakes and such? Are these intakes better than buying a name brand intake such as AEM? Also, is there any welding required in making a cold air intake?

if you are making a cold air from pipes, u should be able to get away with just couplers and bent couplers hope that helps

The one piece ones will be better as they are designed to fit your exact model and arent made of plastic with that said... noone makes an intake for every make and model of car so this is where spectre steps in. they made a ton of generic pieces like 4 " str8 6" str8 y tubes, 45 degrees, 90 dregree and adapters and such and then online the give you the part lists for your car and you go out and buy them and if they dont list your car you can buy a mock up kit with varous different piece and design your own custom intke and then once you get a mock you go out and buy the parts you need. however you will usually end up spending just as much if not more for all the pieces as you would for a name brand one. I say buy one for you car unless no one makes on for your car and if that is the case spectre is they way to go
