So my friend tells me i should get a JL 15 or a couple of JL 12s or maybe a JL 13. I myself, like kicker. I think i might just put in two kicker 12s but i could also do one 15. What do you guys think?

first off, dont do a 15
IMO, its just retarded for a car secondly, its mainly prefrence between the two i personally have JL subs and i love them better than any kicker ive ever heard your best bet is to go to a store and listen to them ones that arent fried and blown or see if you can find someone with some in their car and listen to them

JL, Kicker, and the MTX 9500 series are all good. I have also heard that Alpine Type R's are very nice as well. I personally would go with 2 Kicker Solo L7s, but anything under that I think JL takes the cake. The JL 13W is one nice ass sub and will outperform anything for the money.

both are good and to test you really need to have the exact same setup to no which one is really better for base. different amps will make them sound different and also the settings on the amp can also affect the bass quality also the size of the box and even the car itself. since cars are different sizes the amps need to be set specifically for the car they are in to get the best bass sound quality. I wrote and imp install instruction in this forum that gives you math math formula to setup an amp to give you the hardest hitting bass possible for each car

i bet i can hear better than you. to me it isnt about db. I want hard hitting bass resonating perfectly with my car while maintain good sound quality and still being able to hear the song being played not just the bass thumping until my head explodes but to each his own. oh and by the way I can make mine a lot louder than i play it at

then at least your one of the few that dont have the bass so loud it drowns everything else out. I think it is stupid those people who drive around with there whole car shaking and when you get in therir car all you hear is thump. dont get it you know what the point if you cant hear the music with it right. but anyway we got off topic. was supposed to be about which is better which one did he end up going with?

I havent decided yet but i wont have to for a while. I only have about $310 and my subs and amp are off getting fixed so i wont have more til they get back and i can sell them. But with all the problems im having with my car, i doubt ill be doing anything but maintenence for a while lol.

In my opinion, I say install 2 C12 Kicker's mounted in a wooden box with vents for better quality.

Dont build a wooden box. I suggest buying a box from a known manufacturer like Q-Logic or something. Just dont get a box with plexi-glass. The subs make the plexi-glass shake and it ruins the bass.
