So I need some help from people that know what they are talking about (obviously you guys). Anywho, Im lookin for a car that I want to buy around mid summer and I'm not quite sure what would be the best to get. I was wondering if I could get your guys' opinion on which car you think would be best.
Im lookin to get a car that is at most 7,000. I want to get a car that looks either nice and sporty or something like a BMW that has some class, but I also want it to be fast. Also I would like to get a car that would be a good car to put money into to make it faster and have better suspension, etc etc. What year, model, and make would you guys recommend? |

theres no such thing as "best car" take a look around the forum and the pics that people have uploaded. Its all about the mix of looks, performance and quality / price that best suits you. For your price range, theres a lot of cars to be had maybe you could quantify what you are looking for most in a car ( speed, looks, 4drs, etc )

mustang = fast , good looking, tons of aftermarket support, and at least 2 monthly magazines dedicated soley to them just don't get a 96 - 98 gt they really suck

So I'm thinkin either a mustang around the year 99 or an Audi A4 around the same year. When I start spending money on upgrades and whatnot, which of the two will be cheaper and easier to supe up? And which holds the biggest potential for most hp?

I would lean towards a fox body mustang and use the rest for mods. Much better upside and a cheaper car to boot.

i believe A4s are the slowest cars ever made especially the 1.8t all the ricers rave about. Mustang will definitely go fast, in fact ive never even seen a fast or heard of a fast A4. for what you want and your price range the i would have to suggest a 2g turbo eclipse/talon or something with a potent v8. or take a hop on over to cali and you could get a very clean, very fast honda for that money.

What are you modding goals...drag, road racing, drift, rally, fast daily driver...etc. I would have to go with Scotts recommendation of a 1st Gen eclipse or subaru impreza. Subarus have huge potential. The US gets the watered down performance versions. Subaru makes a JDM motor that's pretty much race ready that a lot of rally drivers use in Europe. Meth, a high flow exhaust and a tune will net you 350whp. Do a search for Spec C or S203/S204 motors? Subarus are also extremely reliable. I know you like BMW's but remember with luxury cars come luxury prices for parts.

I only can say more of what everybody else said, Id your goals A mustang would make a good drag car but if your going to race road style tracks think again.
