Default Best Engine (4 Cylinder)

Continuing the best engine series.

This is the section for engines with four holes in them (flat four, H4, I4, V4 etc.)
Eventually there will be sections for engines with 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 Cylinder engines. There will also be a section for “Exotics” witch will have less common layouts (rotary, hybrid, electric, steam and other engines that don’t have a category

Rules:
1. All nominations need to have some facts/merit behind them (no fan boys ex: ZOMFG ENGINE ____________ IS THE BEST EVER B/C IT’S FROM ___________!1!11!!!)
2. Any engine from anytime period, racing or street is fair game.
3. It does not need to be a car engine (airplane, boat etc.)

GAME ON!!

PS: Don’t forget about the other sections!!
Up tomorrow 8’s

the ITB'd SR20DET from the Pulsar Gti-R gets my vote, becuase of its seamless explosive power, and the fact that its built like a Soviet-era tank. other close ones would be the 1.8T/2.0T FSI from VAG, EJ22Kai from the Subaru 22B, and Ford Eurpoe's 2.3L turbo four ( based on the SVO Mustang motor ) used in the Escort Cosworth

4G63 Mitsubishi 6 bolt was/is bullet proof. Other than crank walk 7 bolt wasn't bad either. Ford 2.3 SVO was solid.
Does anybody but Subaru make a v4?

I have no idea what that classify them as, I just remember having to work on 1 About 13 years ago, 2 plugs left and 2 right. Very odd looking, Pretty good power though. But yeah 4G63 is hard to beat pount for pound.

I think I really need to go with the 4g63 too.

Saab used V4s way back and some motorcycles still use them.

not to sound like a noob, but what is the H pattern, i googled it and got a
bunch of stuff on java code ect. if a V pattern is = O O <Piston
.................................................. ..................... \ /
.................................................. .......................O <Crankshaft

what is the H pattern in an engine? aside from a shift pattern lol
the only engines i've ever seen/used were V Blocks and Inline setups

0 - o - 0

0 = piston
- = rod
o = crankshaft.

It kinda looks like an H. My dad's car has an H12, and that thing looks awesome in the engine bay.

shizz, i almost forgot an engine.....

Volkswagen has a 1.4L dual-charged petrol four-banger thats used in the European-spec Rabbit. i think its called the 1.4TSI or something along those lines. first factory twin-charged motor ( super- and turbo-charged together ) since the old 1990's era Lancia Delta EVO Integrale days
