Default EVO 8 Rear Bumper Removal

1. Remove the rear tail lights. To learn how to do this, click here.

2. Remove the lining inside the trunk. (Just press in all the pins to the snaps and pull it out.)

3. Remove the screws and snaps from the rear wheel wells.

4. Remove the reflectors and disconnect the lights.

5. Inside the trunk, on each side, there are two bolts that screw into the bumper. Remove them.

6. Remove the license plate screws.

7. Remove the bolts from the bottom of the bumper.

8. Remove the bolts from the top of the bumper below the trunk.

9. Here's where the removal gets a little gray. I ended up drilling out two rivets (first one on each side) to get at the last two screws holding the bumper to the chasis. (See the manual above.) I used a wrench to unscrew these bolts. Be very very careful when drilling out the rivets. If you figure out a better way, please let me know!
