Hi all, I'm new to this forum, I have been reading through some of your comments and you all seem to know WAY more about cars than I do!
I'm having some trouble with my '96 acura integra GSR and I was hoping you might be able to give me a bit of advice. I'm a young female and don't know much about cars at all, so I get very worried that I will be taken advantage of when I take my car in for service. I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have so I can be sure to get the best deal and service possible. The trouble is with my clutch: this is not something that came about gradually, it happened very suddenly. The clutch feels spongy and almost feels like it has lost it's friction point. It seems to be in a constant high idle. When I take my foot off the clutch slowly in first without giving it any gas, it will move forward instead of die. I had my clutch replaced a couple years ago...what can this possibly be? |

you should bleed your clutch
this can be done with a friend, take a rubber line, attach one side to your slave cylinder then put the other side in a bottle or container with brake fluid in it. Make sure the other side of the line is submerged in the fluid. use a 8mm open ended wrench and have a friend pump the brake pedal 5 times and hold. open the slave cylinder enough to let out the air / old fluid. repeat until your pedal engagement improves. Make sure to fill your master cylinder as you are letting the old air / fluid out.
