umm.......... bolt everything back together for now, get the idle right, then take it down to the prostreet to get my exhaust done. however for now between school and work I'm running short on time to finish up.
at that point, i plan to pay off my bills that have racked up a little during the process of this build, then, i plan on dipping down into the -$ again to beef up my suspension. ohh and gutting most of the interior out + anything excessive and putting in some light custom carpet instead. Still have to remove the AC+Heater cores Last edited by Ka0sx : 11-29-2007 at 11:35 PM. |

no bondo right now though i might smoth it out later and just cover up the CF with paint. not fiberglass, you can buy it in rolls, there are several diffrent kinds of material you can use to craft with, Fiberglass compound sheet/ Fiberglass cloth weave/ Carbon Fiber+Fiberglass Crossweave/ Carbon Fiber/ Carbon + Kevlar Weave/ then there is a variety of died carbon fiber, you will also need liquid epoxy, i prefer the BONDO brand fiberglass epoxy resin, Mold Wax, what ever you use to make he shape of what you want the final product to look like is called a mold, you cover it with the mold wax and this keeps the epoxy from sticking to it, to make a mold i would suggest some density foam because when youre done you can use foam remover and youre done, what i used was just cardboard to make the shape of the slopes all the way around before waxing it. you will want to put a thin coat of epoxy on the top of the mold before you lay the glass down on it, also dont use alot of hardening compound in the mix, this will give you more time to get it settled right and covered, when it hardens (time will depend on your ratios) apply a second coat, depending on what material you are using, you may need 3-5 coats. im sure if you browse online you will find a more detailed tutorial for using fiberglass and carbon fiber. |

when buying epoxy, buy it from somewhere that hasn't had it on the shelf for more then a year, it just doesn't harden right if its old. |
