Default Break-in prevention

I wanted to know if there is any other ways of preventing a break in besides an alarm? I know they can always break a window but anything for door locks? I recently had my radio stolen and I have a decent python system they must have disconnected the alarm pretty fast since my remote did not go off. I will probably get a newer python or viper system they both seem alike. Can the alarm be placed somewhere else where it cant be disabled so easily? Its frustrating that you work hard for what you have and it can be taken away soo quick. Is there and other ideas you guys have? I greatly appreciate it.

First off did you put those stupide stickers on the windows that say viper or python on it? If you did that was your first mistake because it showed them that you had one somewhere. Dont put brand stickers on ever. You could just install door poppers so that there are no key holes and the only way in would be to brake the glass. But to do those right you would have to have a decent amount of money.

If you own a Honda I can understand your sentiment. There really isnt much in the way of "prevention" as far as breaking in is concerned. If you want to stop them stealing the car, then yes you have options.

So what you do is get a shotgun (you dont even need to load it) and set it so it points at the drivers window (kinda like a gun rack on a wierd angle) then tie some rope from the trigger to the door handle. It doesn't need to work because someone will think twice before opening that door

Sorry to hear about the break-in. That really sucks! I do alarm installs (and other electronics) every day and as far as alarms what I have found out is that thieves usually go straight to the battery and disconnect power as quick as possible. to slow them down install a hood lock that won't let the thief pop the hood from the inside the car. second install a back up battery for the alarm(DEI part #524t ,about 30.00). this will keep the alarm powered up for a few minutes even if the power is disconnected. next add one or two piezo sirens inside the car(they are very small and can fit in vents ) they produce a very painfull high pitch that makes it very uncomfortable to stay in the car. and of course the main alarm brain should be hidden so a thief can't just reach up and unplug it.(hidding it behind the instument cluster works). these are relatively inexpensive upgrades and will slow the thief down. Also don't forget your radio face plate, that's just asking for trouble!

Whens the last time you saw a land mine rip up someones entire body? Never, but you always see landmine victims with no hands or feet.

not a real full proof idea...lol sorry
id say get a chamillion stereo
thier completely black, except for a round crease that pulls out for the volume
it only turns on when your car does and its completely touch screen, i think...
my friend had one, but he spilt coffee on it, and now the cd player doesnt work
if you were to look inside the car, you would see an empy space where your radeo should be...
or a black box if its sticking out...

You can get them from crutchfield.com. Regular CD decks do that now and they are a nice little chunk of money. Just get a deck with a detachable face plate.
